How It All Began....
Hello! I am Dr. Rob McArthur, and I too want to welcome you to our Family Dental Practice here in Snow Hill! What a joy to work in dentistry for so many years and be able to serve this community and our family of patients! 
A little history: “I came to Snow Hill, NC in August 1982 and purchased the practice of the late Dr. Jim Curfman. Serving here enabled me to treat people with compassion and skill in a field that I really love that greatly motivated me! I received my Bachelor of Science in 1973 from UNC and subsequently, graduated with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the UNC- School of Dentistry with honors in 1977. I was selected into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honorary Society. I received a Certificate in Advanced General Dentistry at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA in 1978 where I received extra training in various specialties including IV sedation. I proudly served for 5 years with the US Navy Dental Corps as a LCDR serving aboard the USS Canopus AS-34 and the Dental Center in Charleston, SC until 1982. My wife, Paula and I decided that investing in people’s lives in private practice would best fulfill my passion for serving patients of all ages."
I have been married to my best friend Paula since 1977 and we still live in Snow Hill. We’ve had the privilege of being blessed with 2 beautiful daughters, Kristen M. Bartholomew, RDH, and Lori M. Allen, Attorney at Law. I am also a disciple of Jesus Christ and have had the privilege of serving as an Elder and Housechurch Leader at Grace Fellowship Church, in Kinston since 1994. I’m an avid learner and I enjoy reading, exercising and watching sports. Over the years, I have been active in civic and local organizations such as the Rotary Club, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, etc. I am a member of the American Dental Association, NC Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, Tar River Dental Study Club and the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology.
In 2015, we welcomed my son in law, Dr. Whit Bartholomew, and his wife, Kristen (my daughter), RDH, to our practice. It was such a blessing to be able to share my passion for dentistry and for the patients we serve with family members. In June of 2022, I was able to fully retire as I turned 70 years of age! It has been a distinct privilege to serve all of our patients for these 40 years! You have blessed me personally with your stories, your families, and the privilege of caring for your dental health care needs. Thank you for your trust and love. I finally get the chance to pursue some ministry ideas, travel and hobbies that I’ve never had the time to do.
I want to Thank You, in advance, for allowing Dr. Whit and Kristen, to serve you as your dental team going forward! He has cultivated his skills over these last 7 years and seeks to provide the same level of quality care and professionalism to YOU, as friends and patients. Thank you for your faithful and loyal support of him and the practice!
