Dr. Whit Bartholomew
Hi! I'm Dr. Whit, and I am really happy to welcome you to our practice! A little about me: Before becoming a dentist, I was actually an Engineer. I received my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from NC State in 2004. I met my wife, Kristen, while working as a superintendent for a Custom Homebuilding Company in Raleigh, North Carolina and we've been happily married since 2008. If you know my wife and her dad, you know they both LOVE dentistry. Before long, I was thinking about making a career change. Honestly, it was a little hard NOT to fall in love with dentistry after spending so much time with the two of them! After a lot of praying, I decided to go back to school, and in 2015, I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the UNC School of Dentistry. After graduating, I knew that it would be crucial to be mentored by an experienced clinician to be able to reach the goals I had set for myself. Fortunately, I knew this great dentist in Snow Hill and I thought he might be okay with me joining his practice…especially since bringing his daughter back home would be part of the package.
In 2020, after five years as Dr. Rob’s associate, I was honored to purchase the practice. Looking back, those five years of mentorship and guidance were even more influential than I had even hoped. Dr. Rob and I continued to work and serve together until he retired in June of 2022. I am so honored that he has entrusted me with the staff and patients in this great practice. I long to continue to serve Snow Hill and surrounding communities with the same excellence and family oriented environment that our patients have come to expect. I am committed to continuing my education in order to provide the world class care with a small town feel! I am a member of the American Dental Association, NC Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and Tar River Dental Study Club. I am also honored to be a member of the Greene County Board of Health.
When I am not practicing dentistry, you'll find me spending time with my family. We love going to the beach for good seafood, and we also love staying home and building a campfire in our backyard for s’mores. It won’t take you long to figure out that I am a big time college and professional sports fan. (Yes, I am one of those rare UNC and NC State fans. You’ll have to ask me in person who I cheer for when they play each other!) Although, I have to be honest here: we miss a lot of games now. Our son favors Mickey Mouse over football and basketball. We are working on it.
